Position Overview

Please note that this position is for student and grad student applicants only.

 

As member of the UCalgary Alumni team, the Assistant, Future Alumni & Recent Grad Engagement reports to the Manager, Student & New Alumni Engagement. This position is a combination of administrative, event logistics and student and new alumni engagement. This is a Part-time position that is approximately 1 year in length. The position will be part of the AUPE bargaining unit and salary is in the Operational/Administrative Job Family, Phase 1.  

 

Working closely with the Manager, Future Alumni & Recent Grad Engagement, the Assistant, Future Alumni & Recent Grad Engagement will:

Recent Grads

  • Coordinate and execute event logistics of recent grad programming
  • Foster meaningful relationships between the UCalgary Alumni team and newest additions to the alumni family
  • Analyze data and feedback from alumni to continually enhance programming

Future Alumni Engagement

  • Recruit and motivate student leaders to serve as ambassadors, building pride, spirit and tradition across the student body
  • Support the creation, execution and evaluation of a student engagement plan and programming

 

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Must be enrolled as a Grad Student or in one full-time course for the fall 2017 semester at the University of Calgary
  • Knowledge of community or alumni relations programming, event planning, budgeting and reporting processes
  • Two to three years' experience in an office environment preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (University of Calgary preferred)
  • Energized by taking leadership on projects and eager to innovate
  • Highly organized and able to multitask in fast-paced environment; able to manage and track details effectively
  • Professional presence with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work evenings and weekend, as required
